Timanfaya – Die Feuerberge von Lanzarote

Timanfaya. Die Feuerberge auf Lanzarote. Seit 1974 Nationalpark in Spanien. Der letzte Ausbruch des Timanfaya war im Jahr 1730 und er hat dabei die halbe Insel mit Lava

bedeckt und ist somit prägend für die Landschaft von Lanzarote. Rote Erde, gelber Sand kombiniert mit schwarzer Lava. Die Bilder sind zum Teil auf der Zufahrtsstraße zum Nationalpark entstanden und zum Teil bei der Bustour durch die Feuerberge. Ich habe extra die letzte Tour genommen, damit der Bus nicht zu voll ist und ich einen guten Fensterplatz bekomme. Sehr gerne würde ich auch mal bei Sonnenuntergang eine Tour machen, aber leider schließt der Park um 17:00 Uhr. Einige Wanderwege führen zwar in das Gebiet, aber laut offiziellen Angaben kommt man nur über die Parkzufahrt bis oben hin zu den Vulkanen. Neben an auf die wesentlich ältere und ca 458m hohe Caldera Blanca kommt man allerdings. Dorthin gibt es einen Wanderweg.

Caleta del Mariscadero

Caleta del Mariscadero ein wilder Naturstrand im Nordwesten von Lanzarote. Er gehört zur Gemeinde von Tinajo und ist über eine kleine Straße zu erreichen.

Dieser Strand wird vorwiegend von Einheimichen aufgesucht, Touristen verirren sich nur seten hierher. Ein paar hundert Meter weiter gibt es noch den Mirador del Arco, von wo aus man einen schönen Blick auf den Atlantik hat. Die Straße ist zwar keine Teerstraße, sondern eine gut befestige Sandpiste. Man fährt tief hinein in die Lavafelder und vorbei an der Caldera Blanca. Einem alten, entlegenen Vulkan, welcher eine tolle Aussicht und einen schönen Wanderweg bietet. Außerdem kommt man noch am Montaña Teneza und den ihn umgebenden Terrassenfeldern vorbei. Auch dort gibt es einen Wanderweg und eine einzigartige Landschaft.

Die Salinas de Janubio bei Sonnenuntergang

An der Südwestküste von Lanzarote liegen die wunderschönen Salinas de Janubio. Eine seit 1895 von Familienhand betriebene Anlage zur Meersalzgewinnung. Das Salz wird hier in verschiedenen Becken durch Verdunstung gewonnen. Jeh nach Verdunstungsgrad färben Algen die Becken grün oder rot, wodurch man mit etwas glück ein sehr schönes Farbschauspiel bewundern kann.

Die Salinas de Janubio sind die größten auf den Kanaren und von allen Seiten gut einsehbar. Im Moment werden dort noch ca 2.000 Tonnen Salz pro Jahr gefördert. Zu Hochzeiten waren es einmal über 10.000 Tonnen. Es gibt drum herum mehrere Parkplätze und sogar einen Strand. In den Wintermonaten aht man das Glück das die Sonne genau hinter der Anlage unter geht. Dadurch kann es zu spektakulären Sonnenuntergängen kommen.

Wenn die letzten Strahlen der Sonne sich in den Wasserbecken spiegeln und die verschiedenen Farben der Becken reflektieren. Das hat sich natürlich schon rum gesprochen, weswegen man auf dem Hauptparkplatz an einen guten Tag schon an die 20 Fotografen oder Instagrammer treffen kann. Von der Selfie Franktion mal ab gesehen. Allerdings sind die wenigsten mit Filter und Stativ unterwegs. Meine Bilder sind übrigens an 3 verschiedenen Tagen entstanden.

A desert vineyard

A destert vineyard. Thats how they growe grapes and make wine on Lanzarote. In an vulcano based desert area near the city of Yaiza. The stone walls are to protect the grapes from the wind. Ity a very try area, mostly no rain. Therefore they dig thouses holes wherethey put the grapes in. They are like a funnel. The stones are vulcano based. The stones suck the humidity right out of the morning dew and the funnel brings it to the plant. An impressive desert vineyard. It must be a very arduous kind of work, planting in such an try area. La Graciosa

Sadly we have got windy weather and a cloudy sky on our day trip to the smal canary island La Graciosa. I just can imagine how beautyfull La Graciosa would be with bright sunlight and a blue sky. But for all that I enjoeyed my trip to La Graciosa very much. It is the smallest inhabiteted island of the canaries. It has only 29,05 square kilometers and its in the north of Lanzarote. We took the ferry from Orzola to Caleta del Sebo, the small main village. After a lunch break we went out for a short hiking trip over the island and took the last ferry back to Lanzarote. And the bus back to our horror hotel in Costa Brava.

Colorfull snail shell on the crater bottom of Lanzarotes Vulcano Montana Roja

A snail shell at the crater bottom.

First I found a snail shell. On a place I dont expect to found anything. I was on my way to the top of Lanzarote`s Montana Roja. A 200 meter high and dead old vulcano in the south of Lanzarote, near Playa Blanca Than I found a nother colorfull snail shell. And than a lot of snail shells. Seems there is more life in old vulcano craters than I expected. Specialy on islands full of sand and stones. The bottom was full of small plants, snail shell`s, some rabbits and lizzards. More natural vegetation as I saw in the rest of the island.

Just some Boats at the Marina Rubicon

Just some Boats I saw on my vavation trip to Lanzarotes Marina Rubicon. The Marina Rubicon is a very nice marina at Playa Blanca in the south of Lanzarote. A good place for vacation or a daytrip. The beautyfull Playas del Papagayo are neaby. A couple of natural wild beaches.

Yaiza, cityscapes from a vacation trip

Yaiza a city in the south heart the canary island Lanzarote. I have passed the city on one of my last vacation trips. It looks like you would imagine it. Full of white painted buildings, blue sky and a dark, vulcano based dessert hill background. I am shure I will visit Yaiza again. Next time with a own rented car to take some sundown pictures with the Timanfaya fire mountains in the background there. Its also a winery area. They don`t have much water there, but they grow sweet grapes to make sweet wines.

Yaiza ist eine kleine Stadt im Herzen von Lanzarote. Zu ihr gehört auch der Timanfaya Nationalpark. Kleine, nicht mehr als zweistöckige, weiß gestrichene Häuser, mit roten Ziegeln. Ein paar grüne Pflanzen davor, blauer Himmel, umgeben von dunklen, durch Vulkane entstandenen Hügeln. So in etwa würde es wohl ein Reiseführer beschreiben, und so sieht es dort auch aus. Leider hatte ich sehr wenig Zeit in Yaiza, nächstes mal nehme ich mir einem Mietwagen, und bleibe etwas länger. Jedenfalls werde ich keine deutsch/ holländsiche Reisetour mehr buchen, mit der wir dort gelandet sind. Das hält man auf Dauer nicht wirklich aus 🙂 Vieleicht bleibe ich ja dann bis zum Sonnenuntergang. Mit den Timanfaya Bergen im Hintergrund sieht es bestimmt sehr gut aus.

Marina Rubicon

Marina Rubicon. A nice and clean marina at Playa Blanca, the south side of the canary island Lanzarote. I was not there with a boat so I cant tell you any experience how good they are with boats there, I was just there for sightseeing and for some traveler pictures. Turquoise water, white houses, blue sky an mountains in the background.

Seagulls at the water prey

A bunch of seagulls hunting over the blue atlantic sea. I met thous gulls on a boat trip over the atlantic ocean from the island of Lanzarote to la Graciosa. They followes out Boat for a while in hope of getting feeded by the tourists. And that happend after a view minutes. They got feeded by tourists with the rests of their Paella.

Eine Gruppe von Möwen, welche ich bei einer Überfahrt von Lanzarote nach La Graciosa fotografieren konnte. Während der Überfahrt folgten sie uns eine Weile in der Hoffnung das jemand ein wenig Essen für sie über Bord wirft um sie zu füttern. Am Ende haben sie dann die Reste der Paella bekommen und sind wieder ab gezogen.

Montañas del Fuego – The Timanfaya fire mountain

The second part of my trip to the Timanfaya fire mountain (Montañas del Fuego). Its an national park vulcano area in the southwestern part of the island of Lanzarote, Canary Island. Ihe last big eruption was in 1824, and the biggest eruption was in 1730, when it covers half of the island with lava. And please dont miss the first part 🙂

A Seagull in the air

A bunch of seagulls looking for prey. I met thous gulls on a boat trip over the atlantic ocean from the island of Lanzarote to la Graciosa. The seagull followes our Boat for a while in hope of getting feeded by the tourists. They trow some food for them in the air. That seems to happen frequently, because the gulls were very trustingly.
